Nagpur businessman Amol Kale elected as Vice President of Mumbai Cricket Association

It’s a matter of pride for the orange city that Nagpur-born businessman Amol Kale has been elected unopposed as the Vice President of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). Kale, who hails from Nagpur, got shifted to Mumbai around eight years back. Along with Kale, Vijay Patil and Sanjay Naik were also elected unopposed as the President and Secretary, respectively, of the MCA. Later, Naik was chosen as MCA’s representative in BCCI election and AGM, which will be held on October 23.
While Shahalam Shaikh was appointed as the Joint Secretary of the MCA (as he defeated Sangram Lad), Jagdish Achrekar became the treasurer after he beat Mayank Khandwala.
Nine members of the newly-elected MCA’s apex council are: Unmesh Khanvilkar, Ajinkya Naik, Gaurav Payyade, Vihang Sarnaik, Abhay Hadap, Kaushik Godbole, Amit Dani, Nadim Memom and Khodadad Yazdegardi.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus.

Nagpur registered 88 (81 from city) new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, December 31. Nagpur previously had recorded as minimum as six cases on December 24.
