Representational Image
Keeping humanity above religion, six Muslim men decided to perform the last rites of a 65-year-old Hindu man, who died due to COVID-19 on August 24 in Telangana. The family of the deceased allegedly had refused to cremate the deceased due to fear of contracting COVID-19.
As per reports, police tried to reason with family members of the deceased, however, the family still refused to cremate him. It is then that the Muslim men, identified as Abdul Rabh, Munir, Ishaq, Nasir Ali, Shoaib and Imran volunteered to perform the deed. They hired an ambulance and following all the protocols of COVID-19 and later performed the last rites of the man.
India is known for its Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb. When we learnt about the situation, we decided to hold the cremation of the old man, Abdul Rabh told India Today.
