Maha CM Uddhav Thackeray phones cop to wish New Year; Nilesh Rane says CM not doing ‘favour’
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, called Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police Vishwas Nangre Patil on New Year’s Eve to extend New Year greetings.
Reacting on this, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Member of Parliament Nilesh Rane, on Monday, criticized Thackeray and called the CMs call as an ‘over-exaggeration.’
At midnight, Patil had sent a message to the Chief Minister wishing him a Happy New Year.
Thackeray called up Patil and said, I want to start this year with the brave jawans of my Mumbai police force. You get tired of working all night. I will come at one o’clock in the afternoon to wish you all personally.
Nangre Patil, on Facebook, sharing his experience of interacting with the Chief Minister wrote, “CM Thackeray called me and said Vishwasrao, I (Thackeray) want to start this New Year with the brave jawans of my Mumbai police force.
While the news of the conversation between Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Vishwas Nangre Patil on the night of December 31 was being published in media, BJP leader and former MP Nilesh Rane criticised Thackeray.
Rane said, What a news has been planted! It is an exaggeration to say that the person (Thackeray) who doesn’t answers his colleagues calls, who beats Shiv Sainiks, replies to a message in the middle of the night? It’s impossible.
He added, No matter how much the PR glorifies this incident, it’s his (Thackeray’s) job. Hes not doing a favor to Maharashtra.
