US President Donald Trump on Thursday used the word ?filthy? to describe the air quality in India, Russia and China while speaking on climate crisis during the second and final presidential debate with Democratic rival Joe Biden. Apart from climate crisis, both the presidential candidates also spoke debated on COVID-19, immigration, racism, healthcare and foreign policy. 

Speaking about climate crisis, Trump said: Look at China, how filthy it is. Look at Russia. Look at India. The air is filthy. I walked out of the Paris Accord as we had to take out trillions of dollars and we were treated very unfairly when they put us in there, they did us a greatest service. They were going to take away our businesses. 

I will not sacrifice millions of jobs and thousands of companies because of the Paris Accord. It is very unfair, President Trump added. 

Biden on the other hand explained climate change as an existential threat to humanity? and stated that it’s a moral obligation of the citizens to deal with it. We’re going to pass the point of no return within the next eight to 10 years, Biden added. 

Trumps remarks came as air pollution levels in parts of the Indian capital New Delhi, soared to severe? levels on Friday.

This is the second time the US President had made critical remarks on India during a debate. Earlier, during his first presidential debate, Trump questioned India’s data concerning COVID-19 pandemic. He said, When you talk about numbers, you don’t know how many people died in China, you don’t know how many people died in Russia, you don’t know how many people died in India. They don’t exactly give you a straight count.
