Jharkhand: Fine of ₹1 lakh for not wearing mask, 2-yr-jail term for violating lockdown

?In a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19, Jharkhand government announced ? 1 lakh fine for people who don’t wear masks and two-year-jail term for flouting lockdown norms.
The Hemant Soren cabinet on July 22 approved the newly formulated Jharkhand Contagious Disease Ordinance (IDO) 2020, which declared the penalty against violators for flouting COVID-19 norms that also included prohibition of spitting in public.

On Tuesday, the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) announced the three-day closure on the weekend due to surging COVID-19 cases in the state.
As of July 22, Jharkhand reported 439 new COVID-19 cases, while three more people died due to the virus taking the death toll up to 64. The total cases of Coronavirus in the state shot up to 6,845 on July 23.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus.
