India vaccinates over 54 lakh people against COVID-19 with 2 ‘home-made’ vaccines
The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, on Saturday, said that India had vaccinated more than 54 lakh people against COVID-19 till February 6.
Started on January 16th, India is currently running the world’s biggest COVID-19 vaccination drive with the help of two home-made? vaccines, which included Serum Institute’s Covishield and BharatBioTech’s Covaxin.
54, 16,849 people were benefitted under the drive (6th Feb), which included healthcare workers, frontline officers and COVID warriors. As per reports, Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of vaccinations at 6, 73,542.
Maharashtra stood at the second position with 4, 34,943 and Rajasthan at the third with 4, 14,422 people vaccinated against the virus.
In a statement, the officials from Health Ministry said, In the last 24 hours, 4, 57,404 people were vaccinated across 10,502 sessions. A total of 1, 06,303 sessions have been conducted so far. It includes 3, 01,537 healthcare workers and 1, 55,867 frontline workers.
The officials further said that more than 20 crore (20, 06, 72,589) tests had been conducted as of February 6. The total numbers of COVID-19 cases in India stand at 1, 08, 14,304 and 1, 54, 918 have died because of the virus. In the last 24 hours, 95 fatalities were reported, they added.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus.
