In wake of Omicron variant, Maha govt. issues fresh guidelines | Check here
Amid the Omicron variant scare, the government of Maharashtra, on Saturday, November 27, issued fresh guidelines and restrictions regarding COVID-19.
The new orders were issued under the Epidemic Disease Act and the Disaster Management Act. As per the orders, all international travellers coming into the state would be governed according to the norms of the Central government.
In Maharashtra, domestic travellers should either be fully vaccinated or carry an RT-PCR test valid for 72 hours.
The orders also stressed on the implementation of the COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB). If COVID-19 norms were flouted, heavy fines would be imposed.
If, default found inside a taxi or private transport four-wheeler or inside any bus, along with individual defaulting CAB will be fined Rs 500, the order read.
The driver, helper or conductor shall be fined Rs 500 and the owner transport agency in cases of buses shall be fined Rs 1000, it mentioned.
Furthermore, it said that in case of marriages or any event in open or closed space, only people up to 50% of the total capacity would be allowed. For open sky spaces, only 25% of the total capacity would be allowed.
Meanwhile, the state government is currently running Har Ghar Dastak COVID-19 campaign to vaccinate masses at the earliest.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
