Here’s how 120 Indian soldiers killed 1,300 Chinese army men during Battle of Rezang La in 1962
Kulpreet Yadav, author of the book ‘The Battle of Rezang La,’ while speaking during a session at the Orange City Literature Festival spoke as to how an outnumbered Indian army company of 120 soldiers battled and killed 1,300 Chinese soldiers during the Sino-Indian war in 1962.
The company, which was then called Charlie C company of 13 Kumaon and was led by Major Shaitan Singh, was rechristened later as Rezang La company with Major Singh getting a Param Vir Chakra for sacrificing his life.
The three-day Orange City Literature Festival was organised by SGR Knowledge Foundation at the Chitnavis Centre from November 26 to November 28.

Nandita Om Puri during a discussion on ‘Women Empowerment – Positive reinforcement of women entering male dominated professions’ with Kaveree Bamzai, Monica Bhagwagar, Harshali Singh and Minnie Vaid said that to truly empower women, we must teach our sons and men around empathy. Puri was speaking at the three-day Orange City Literature Festival, which was organised by SGR Foundation at Chitnavis Centre in Nagpur from November 26 to November 28.
