Gang of 5 kills 30-year-old Nagpur man by slitting throat over land dispute; CCTV records incident

In a shocking incident, a gang of five friends, on Wednesday night, killed Prashant Ghodeswar by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon near Rajbaba beer bar, Khaparkheda. While the CCTV at the bar recoded this frightening incident, the 30- year-old, died on spot due to excess blood loss.
As per reports, Ghodeswar ran a Chinese stall on a market-place, which was primarily owned by MSCB. The accused got into some sort of an agreement with MSCB over the lands custody and asked Ghodeswar to clear the space. Responding to this, Ghodeswar refused to do so and got into a feud with the accused.
Police Inspector Pundlik Bhatkar, attached to Khaparkheda police station spoke to Nation Next on this matter and said, The accused and the dead got into a fight over the land dispute few days prior to the incident. Both could not find a common ground and no one was ready to solve the issue.

He further stated that on Wednesday night, when Ghodeswar was returning home from work, the gang of five stopped him in mid-way and got into a physical fight. One of the five, with a sharp weapon, attacked Ghodeswar and slit his throat causing a blood bath.
Till the time we reached the spot, he was already dead due to excessive blood loss, lack of medic care and treatment. We have sent the body for post mortem and we will get the results soon, he added.
When asked about their further actions on the matter, he said, The five ran away overnight. We have the CCTV recordings of the event. The accused will be charged under IPC Section 302 (death sentence or life imprisonment if found guilty in a murder case). We will soon locate them.

ED arrests Nagpur advocate Satish Ukey who filed petition against Fadnavis

Satish Ukey
Enforcement Directorate (ED) took the custody of RTI activist advocate Satish Ukey and his brother Pradeep Ukey after raiding the former’s residence at Parvati Nagar in Nagpur on Thursday morning at 7 am. Satish, who is also the lawyer of MPCC President Nana Patole, had filed an election petition against former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Devendra Fadnavis.
Ukey had alleged that Fadnavis hadn’t disclosed pending criminal cases against him while filing his nomination papers for the 2009 and 2014 Assembly elections, and thus violated the Representation of People’s Act, 1951. For the past few years, Ukey had also been filing petitions in court against several BJP leaders.
During the raid, an army of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was also deployed under his house. The crime branch had issued a notice to Ukey regarding a land transaction in Nagpur.
