ED favouring Param Bir Singh; giving step motherly treatment to Anil Deshmukh: Atul Londhe

L to R: Anil Deshmukh, Param Bir Singh
Atul Londe, spokesperson for Maharashtra Congress, while speaking about the allegations levelled against former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh (72) in money laundering case, accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) agency for sparing former Commissioner of Mumbai Police Param Bir Singh.
Londhe said…
?ED is a law enforcement agency and economic intelligence agency responsible for enforcing economic laws and fighting economic crime in India.
It is part of the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, and Government of India.
The agency, which has to work independently, without favouritism to anyone, but in Maharashtra it seems that it is totally favouring Singh. The working of the ED has raised several questions in the minds of common people and especially to those who are associated with the Nationalist Congress Party NCP.
The raids and action of the ED were only to defame Deshmukh. Nawab Malik, state Cabinet Minister NCP spokesperson also questioned why Singh has been on long leave and the reason behind such strong allegations against Deshmukh?
Why has he been allowed to take such a long leave? Many like Malik are unable to understand that why open favouritism is shown to Singh, while on the other hand Deshmukh, against whom no evidence has not been found even after several raids at his residences and office is called again and again before the ED?
It’s an open secret and everyone is aware of the fact that on June 25, Deshmukh, during his interrogation with ED, explained in detailed, but still he is harassed again and again. It’s a primary duty of the ED to provide the copy of the ECIR to Deshmukh, about the false allegation that has been made against him.
Even the ED must clear its role, is a question raised in the several minds of the common people of Maharashtra and specially of the minds of NCP workers, Despite of the suspicious role of Singh in the Antilia episode, he is being given relaxation, without no inquiry, why?
Is it not a genuine question that the ED must answer to the public of Maharashtra?
Even a general question validly raised by Deshmukh, and in mind of people that why the officers ACP, DCP, Joint CP, etc., were directly reporting to Singh?
Altogether the action of ED, which is highly regarded as an independent agency showing full favouritism to any particular officer, is putting a big question on the integrity of the ED. Even the ED should not forget the lines of the Hindi song, Ye Public Hai Sab Janti Hai.?
