Actor Vivek Oberoi’s wife Priyanka Alva has been served notice by Bengaluru Crime Branch over her links with brother Aditya Alva in connection with drugs case in Kannada Film Industry, popularly known as Sandalwood. The notice comes a day after the Bengaluru crime branch officials raided Vivek’s Mumbai residence on Thursday in search of Aditya.
On Thursday, Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Bengaluru Police, had told NDTV: “Aditya Alva is absconding. Vivek Oberoi is his relative and we got some information that Alva is there. So we wanted to check. So a court warrant was obtained and Crime Branch team has gone to his house in Mumbai.”
Aditya, who is the son of late minister Jeevaraj Alva is Vivek’s brother-in-law and the prime accused in the Sandalwood drugs racket. Last month, a lookout notice was issued for Aditya, who has been reported absconding since September 4. It has been alleged that many of the accused in the Sandalwood drugs case attended rave parties at a farmhouse owned by Aditya.
Kannada actors Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani are amongst the 15 accused who have been arrested in the drugs case. Other names, which have come to the fore in the case, include rave party organiser Viren Khanna and realtor Rahul Thonse.
While the police is still on hunt for Aditya Alva, no formal statement has been issued by his family.
