BREAKING: 13 including CDS Bipin Rawat, wife die in chopper crash


In an unfortunate event, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, on Wednesday, December 8, passed away in a chopper crash.
Along with General Rawat, his wife and 11 others including the members of his staff and officers could not survive the crash.
Indian Air Force, in a statement, said, With deep regret, it has now been ascertained that Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika Rawat and 11 other persons on board have died in the unfortunate accident.
An Army chopper carrying Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat, a family member, and several of his staff members, including his Defence Assistant, security commandos and other Air Force personnel, crashed on December 8, at 12:20 pm in the Nilgiri Hills, Tamil Nadu.
As per Indian Air Force, 13 people were on board the Air Force’s Mi-17V5 helicopter. The Air Force confirmed that General Rawat was on board.
The chopper crashed shortly after it took off from an Indian Army base in Sulur near Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore.
It was heading to Wellington in Udhagamandalam, where a Defence Services Staff College is located.

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
