JUST IN: BJP MLA Ashish Deshmukh on Friday threw Fitness Challenge, (which is a part of Hum Fit Toh India Fit, campaign) at Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. The BJP MLA posted a video on his twitter handle by tagging CM Fadnavis and also challenged the youth of Maharashtra. Deshmukh, who’s seen doing push ups in the video, wrote, ?#HumFitTohIndiaFit? I would like to challenge youth of Maharashtra and @Dev_Fadnavis #MaharashtraCm.

The FitnessChallenge was started by Union Minsiter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on May 22. Rathores campaign gained momentum after he posted a video of him doing push-ups. In the same video, he threw a challenge at Virat Kohli, actor Hrithik Roshan, and badminton champion Saina Nehwal.

When Nation Next asked Ashish the reason for challenging Fadnavis, he said, I’ve basically challenged the youth of Maharashtra. And, Fadnavis is the representative of the people of Maharashtra. Even our Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted Virat Kohlis challenge. I hope the CM accepts my challenge and strives towards a fitter Maharashtra. I expect him to upload a similar video of his on Twitter. Even PM is going to post his video on twitter soon.

Deshmukh in December 2017 had written a seven-page long letter to the CM requesting him to become the torchbearer of separate Vidarbha. When asked about his present rapport with the CM, Deshmukh quipped, As an MLA, hes ever ready to help me out in various activities and initiatives. We don’t share any bitterness with each other.

Ahead of the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Deshmukh has requested Fadnavis to take cognizance of backward regions of Maharashtra. He said, Because hes the chief minister, I expect him to not to neglect Vidarbha and carve out a separate Vidarbha as promised to the people in 2014 elections. The CM should provide employment to youth of Nagpur and Vidarbha region.

Speaking about Nagpur Metro, he said, We’re getting projects like metro in Nagpur but who’s going to commute in it? Though it’s a good initiative, it makes no sense if proper employment opportunities aren’t generated.

However, the BJP MLA refused to comment on the recent police complaint lodged by his father and former MPCC chief Ranjeet Deshmukh against his son Dr Amol. The MPCC chief had earlier in the month filed a complaint at Sitabuldi police station against his son Amol over a property dispute. However, he later withdrew the complaint on the same evening. On being asked about the same, Ashish quipped, I don’t want to comment on this.

A car, which can transform into an aircraft in two minutes and 15 seconds, has been issued with a certificate of airworthiness by the Slovak Transport Authority. The hybrid car-aircraft, which is capable of hitting speeds over 100mph (160kmh) and altitudes above 8,000ft (2,500m), is equipped with a BMW engine and runs on regular petrol-pump fuel.

The ‘Aircar’ has been manufactured by Klein Vision, which said that the certification followed 70 hours of flight testing and more than 200 take-offs and landings. Professor Stefan Klein, Founder of Klein Vision, said: “AirCar certification opens the door for mass production of very efficient flying cars.” He added: “It is official and the final confirmation of our ability to change mid-distance travel forever.”

In June 2021, the flying car completed a 35-minute flight between international airports in Nitra and Bratislava, Slovakia. Klein Vision told BBC News that it plans to fly to London from Paris in near future.

Rene Molnar, director, Civil Aviation, Transport Authority of Slovakia, said: Transportation Authority carefully monitored all stages of unique AirCar development from its start in 2017. Transportation safety is our highest priority. AirCar combines top innovations with safety measures in line with EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) standards. It defines a new category of a sports car and a reliable aircraft.
