Bhandara vintner to serve ‘home made wine’ from Feb in Nagpur
Shashichandra Jaiswal to serve home made wine from Feb in Nagpur…
Vidarbhas first ever wineries SP Wineries, which had started its commercial operations a few months ago in Pauni village of Bhandara district with port wine (wines made from non premium variety grapes), is planning to expand its market in Nagpur by February with its premium wine (non-seeded varietal wines) segment by 2020.
In order to follow his passion, Shashichandra Jaiswal (55), owner of SP Wineries, decided to not opt for his family business of running retail liquor shops but instead try his hands on wine production. A decade ago, Jaiswal had been intrigued by wine and since then consequently took up the hobby of home made wine.
Speaking to Nation Next Shashichandra Jaiswal said, It’s been a year that I started my winery. Presently, we only prepare wines made up of table grapes but within the next two months, probably, we?ll also be making it from Mahua flowers. My inclination towards homemade wine grew 10 years ago. Since I am a teetotaler, I didn’t understand its taste; so I offered it to my wine connoisseur friends for feedback. They gave me a positive reply and said that my wine tasted better than that available in the market. And consequently, I decided to startup a wine production company. For now our company is outsourcing grapes from Nashik but as soon as our business sales go up, I’ll soon be dong viticulture (cultivation and harvesting of grapes). We will be introducing our products in Nagpur by the end of February and are planning to expand on PAN India level soon.
The first batch of wine was bottled in June 2019 specifically for Bhandara district only. By the end of next month, the company will be making its products available for its customers in Nagpur as well.
Speaking to Nation Next Nagpur Wine Clubs director Deepak Khanuja, said, Since we don’t have any wineries in Nagpur it is indeed a great idea to introduce one. By doing so we could replace the consumption of hard liquors (like whiskey and vodka) with locally produced port wines. I have also tasted the companys port wines and it tastes really fine.

‘AirCar’ manufactured by Klein Vision
A car, which can transform into an aircraft in two minutes and 15 seconds, has been issued with a certificate of airworthiness by the Slovak Transport Authority. The hybrid car-aircraft, which is capable of hitting speeds over 100mph (160kmh) and altitudes above 8,000ft (2,500m), is equipped with a BMW engine and runs on regular petrol-pump fuel.
The ‘Aircar’ has been manufactured by Klein Vision, which said that the certification followed 70 hours of flight testing and more than 200 take-offs and landings. Professor Stefan Klein, Founder of Klein Vision, said: “AirCar certification opens the door for mass production of very efficient flying cars.” He added: “It is official and the final confirmation of our ability to change mid-distance travel forever.”
