Anil Deshmukh, Dr Nitin Raut virtually inaugurate ‘Nagpur Police COVID-19 Hospital’
In view of the increasing spread of COVID-19 in the city, city police set up Nagpur Police COVID-19 Hospital, which was inaugurated virtually by Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Guardian Minister Dr Nitin Raut on Monday, September 21.
The 16-bed facility, which has been set up near Police
Headquarters, has been designed for cops who have been serving the city since lockdown.
City Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioner Radhakrishnan B, Special Inspector General of Police Nagpur Range Chiranjeev Prasad, Joint Commissioner of Police Nilesh Bharne, Superintendent of Police, Nagpur (Rural) Rakesh Ola, doctors and several DCPs were present for the same.
Three days back, Cabinet Minister Dr Nitin Raut along with his wife Suemdha had tested positive for Coronavirus. The senior Congress leader’s wife was admitted to Alexis Hospital for further treatment.
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus.
Nagpur registered 88 (81 from city) new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, December 31. Nagpur previously had recorded as minimum as six cases on December 24.
