Amid spike, COVID-19 testing tripled in Nagpur: Guardian Minister Nitin Raut

Senior Cabinet Minister in Maha Vikas Aghadi and Guardian Minister of Nagpur Dr Nitin Raut said that COVID-19 testing had tripled in the city ever since the city witnessed a spike in cases. Raut said, More than 10,000 swab samples are tested in Nagpur district in one day.
Raut added that people who are home quarantined would be stamped soon and the data of patients visiting government hospitals would also be recorded.
He said currently there were 1,769 oxygen beds, 684 ICU and 263 ventilator beds available for COVID-19 patients in the district. Raut further said that the administration, despite a spike in Maharashtra, has been able to control the situation in Nagpur.
Nagpur registered 984 new COVID-19 positive cases on Saturday, February 27, which took the districts overall tally to 1,48,889. There are 7934 active patients in Nagpur district at present. The COVID-19 recovery rate as on Saturday stood at 91.76%.
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus.
Nagpur registered 88 (81 from city) new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, December 31. Nagpur previously had recorded as minimum as six cases on December 24.
