An Ajmer resident named Dharmendra Anija has ?gifted three acres of land on the Moon to his wife to celebrate their 8th wedding anniversary. Dharmendra said he ?bought’ land on the Moon as he wanted to do something special for his wife Sapna Anija.

It was our wedding anniversary on December 24. I wanted to do something special for her. Everyone gifts earthly possessions like cars and jewellery, but I wanted to do something different. Therefore, I purchased land on the Moon for her, Dharmendra told ANI.

Dharmendra purchased the land through Luna Society International, which took a year’s time to complete the entire process. I am happy. I think I am the first man in Rajasthan to buy land on the Moon, he added.

Expressing her excitement, Sapna said, I am extremely happy. I never expected he would gift me something so special. Dharmendra organised a party with help of professional event planners and the setup was surreal. It felt like we are literally on the moon, she told the news agency. There during the ceremony, he gifted me a framed certificate of the property document, she added.

Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and late Sushant Singh Rajput also own property on the celestial body. Inspired by the actors, a resident of Bodh Gaya, Neeraj Kumar, also purchased one-acre land on the Moon on his birthday.

An elderly couple was mauled by a tiger in Chor Bawali on January 25 while on their way from Narsinghpur (Madhya Pradesh) to Nagpur on January 25. The couple was accompanied by their 25-year-old son in a car. Following the tiger attack, the couple was admitted to Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur.

While on their way to Nagpur, the family of three stopped near Chor Bawali for passing urine. When the 58-year-old woman got out of the car, the tiger, which was probably wounded by a previous vehicular assault, caught hold of the woman’s hand and bit her thumb. When the woman’s husband stepped out of the car to help his wife, the tiger attacked him as well and injured his right leg. A terrfied son started throwing stones at the tiger, who eventually ran away.

The couple was given first aid by the bystanders before being driven to Nagpur by the son to Kingsway hospital. Speaking to Nation Next, treating surgeon Dr Prakash Jain informed that the family was terrified when it arrived at the hospital. Dr Jain said: “The couple is now stable. Tiger mauling is always serious. The couple was lucky to have sustained minor injuries in the incident.”
