As per the daily death analysis by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), 80% of deaths due to COVID-19 in the city occurred due to delay in treatment. With the limited capacity of beds available for COVID-19 patients in the city to late diagnosis of the virus, there have been many reasons that have led to an increase in the fatalities due to COVID-19.
One of the major reasons behind the delay in treatment, as reported in TV9, was people either hiding their symptoms or getting tested late. Patients as per the report get admitted for COVID-19 treatment after lot of water has flown under the bridge. As a result, majority of the patients succumb due to COVID-19.
However, the NMC has been repeatedly urging citizens to put up a brave front and fight the virus by timely testing and treatment. The number of patients who died due to the infection till Monday was 44, which pushed the death toll in the district to 1702.
