The total number of persons found to be infected with the new United Kingdom (UK) COVID-19 variant reached 102 on Wednesday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) informed.
“The total number of persons found to be positive with the new UK variant genome stands at 102 today,” a tweet from official Twitter handle of MoHFW read.
Till Monday. The number of persons who had tested positive for the mutant UK strain was 96.
All the infected people have been kept in single-room isolation at designated healthcare facilities by the respective State governments, the Heath Ministry had earlier said.
Meanwhile, India continues it’s streak of decline in active caseload, as the active cases in the country remain 2.14 lakh after 197 days.
15,968 daily new cases were registered in the last 24 hours against 17,817 recoveries.
The total recovered cases stand at 10,129,111 with a recovery rate of 95.51%.
81.83% of the new recovered cases are observed to be concentrated in ten States/Union Territories, which include: Kerala, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
74.82% of the new cases are concentrated in seven States and Union Territories, which include: Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
