Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Tuesday, October 27, claimed that three crore citizens in the state were fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
He also said that this number was the highest compared to any other state in the country.
Sharing this news he took to Twitter and wrote, Maharashtra has completed the 3 crore stage of fully vaccinated citizens today. This is a great victory for our health system and I am very proud of this victory as the head of the family. We will soon achieve the goal of vaccinating the whole of Maharashtra.
According to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope, a total of 9,58,08,623 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered till October 25.
The state government had earlier conducted special vaccination drives under Mission Kavach Kundal? to speed up the pace of vaccination.
As of now, the state is conducting on-site vaccination drives specifically for students going to college.
Ahead of the festivities, Maharashtra government also mandated wearing masks in the state to curb the spread of Coronavirus. Heavy fines would be imposed on those, who would fail to abide by the newly introduced provisions.
