Despite that, a man in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur on January 17 lunged at Gandhi while he was walking during Bharat Jodo Yatra and hugged him, raising concerns. The man was pushed away by Congress workers who were standing beside Gandhi.

India lined-up to surpass China as the most populated country in 2023

According to projections made by United Nation, the world population hit the mark of eight billion today on November 15, 2022. The eight billion population milestone showed that the population increased by one billion people in the world in just the last 11 years.

India is lined-up to surpass China as the world’s most populated by the year 2023. Also, the global population is projected to peak at around 10.4 billion in the 2080s.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres  said, “This year’s World Population Day falls during a milestone year when we anticipate the birth of the Earth’s eight billionth inhabitant. This is an occasion to celebrate our diversity, recognice our common humanity, and marvel at advancements in health that have extended lifespans and dramatically reduced maternal and child mortality rates.”
