Shree Shraddhanand Orphanage Nagpur, with tireless efforts, took up an initiative to transfer mentally challenged children to institution of Sevdham Ashram Ujjain by the order of Child Welfare Committee Nagpur on November 13, which would provide the children with appropriate learning environment. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis played a major role in helping out for the cause. The transfer program was organized in the premises of the institute.

The organization was trying for two years for rehabilitation and development of two mentally challenged children of Shree Shraddhanand Orphanage. As Maharashtra does not have an institution for disabled children aged 0 to 6 years. 40 kids from 3 more institutes were transferred  to Ujjain.

Fadnavis was welcomed in the program by Mr. Balaji Buty acting president. Sudhir Bhai Goyal was welcomed by Treasurer Mr. B. C. Bharatiya. Mrs. Mati Aparna Kolhe District Women Child Development Officer Nagpur was welcomed by Joint Secretary Mrs. Gitanjali Buti. Guests were welcomed with gifts prepared by the girls of the institute.

Geetanjali Buty, Joint Secretary, introduced the program. Fadnavis, while blessing the children said that when he was the Chief Minister, he implemented 1 percent reservation for orphans. He added, “In order to rehabilitate these children, the government will prepare a policy in this regard in the near future. The government, society and citizens should stand together for such children.”

Program management was done by Principal Mrs. Lalita Gawande, Vote of thanks was taken up by Social Worker Pratima Diwanji. Mr. Venkatesh Buty, Mr. Balaji Buty, Mrs. Gitanjali Buty, as well as Mr. Mahesh Dandhe, Mr. Sanjay Joshi have played a big role in making this program a success. It was due to their efforts that the children were transferred to an institution suitable for their development.
