The students of Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road in Nagpur conducted an assembly on Saturday to celebrate the birth anniversary of Chhtrapathi Shivaji Maharaj – the first ruler and founder of the Maratha Empire.
The celebration began with a welcome speech followed by a prayer in Marathi. The students enacted a skit on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj portraying how he stood up against the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The students presented a wonderful dance depicting the bravery of Shivaji Maharaj. They presented a motivational thought on setting goals. They also updated the audience with the latest happenings around the world.
The Principal at DPS Kamptee addressed the students and highlighted the achievements of the Maratha warrior. The National Anthem was rendered to conclude the assembly.
Poonam Towers aka Bata building
Civic authorities covered the incomplete under construction work of Poonam Towers, situated bang opposite Vidhan Bhavan at RBI Square, on Friday ahead of the C20 meet in Nagpur scheduled on March 20 and 21.
The building owned by renowned builder N Kumar, whose construction has remained incomplete over two decades, it popularly known as ‘Bata building’ in the city.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am. The deceased, identified as Gunnu Dharma Lohara, was a resident of Yadav Nagar who was playing badminton with his friend.
He was rushed to Central Railway Hospital in an unconscious state and was declared dead by the doctors there.
