With only a handful of movies made in Nagpur, AnuragJha Creations has taken on the challenge of producing this groundbreaking film, aiming to set new benchmarks for the local film industry. Unlike movies driven by political backing, social issues, or commercial motives, “Shinigami’s Box: Origins” sets itself apart with its commitment to a fresh story, pure talent, and captivating presentation.

The film’s journey began three years ago, with meticulous scripting and development before it was brought to life. “Shinigami’s Box: Origins” follows Inspector Kabir of the Special Crimes Unit as he races against time to uncover the mysterious connection between a captured masked criminal and an otherworldly box that appears in a secluded village on the city’s outskirts, as revealed on the film’s IMDb page.

Directed by Anurag Jha, the film features an ensemble cast, with the director himself portraying the enigmatic character of Shinigami. Joining him are Yash Krishnani, Shreeyanshi Katre, Rishi Raj, Avani Arya, Abhijeet Daigavane, and other talented actors in prominent roles, collectively showcasing the city’s pool of acting talent.

The entire film is shot on location in Nagpur, further emphasizing the production’s commitment to highlighting the city’s vibrant culture and aesthetics. Set to release in the later half of 2023, “Shinigami’s Box: Origins” promises an immersive cinematic experience that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.

FANs of SRK Nagpur royally celebrate Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan responds

City-based Shah Rukh Khan aficionados ‘FANs of SRK Nagpur,’ hosted a first-day-first-show (FDFS) movie event for his latest release ‘Jawan’ on Thursday at Buti Cineplex, Sadar.

In a first, the event was hosted with cheering and dancing across several cinema halls in the city. The event was followed by a flash mob, with several SRK fans exuberantly celebrating the success of Bollywood’s superstar.

Appreciating the efforts and enthusiasm of his fans, Khan tweeted, “Lots of love to all of you who made the FDFS so special in Nagpur!”

FANs of SRK Nagpur is a Nagpur-based Shah Rukh Khan fan-following founded and co-founded by Khalid Ahmed and Faizan Ahmed respectively.

Khan’s latest film Jawan hit theatres on September 7 and witnessed a huge opening on its first day, minting over 129 crores and becoming the biggest opening day in the history of Hindi cinema.

‘Parineeta,’ ‘Mardaani’ director Pradeep Sarkar passes away at 67

Renowned filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar, best known for films like Parineeta, Mardaani, etc., passed away at the age of 67.

Renowned filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar, best known for films like Parineeta, Mardaani, etc., passed away at the age of 67 on Friday morning in Mumbai.  Sharing the news, director Hansal Mehta wrote, “Pradeep Sarkar. Dada. RIP.” Sarkar had been unwell for a while and was undergoing dialysis. His potassium levels had dropped drastically so had to be rushed to a hospital at 3 am on Friday.

Actor Ajay Devgn, on his Twitter, wrote, “The news of Pradeep Sarkar’s demise, ‘Dada’ to some of us is still hard to digest. My deepest condolences. My prayers are with the departed and his family. RIP Dada.”

Actor Manoj Bajpayee retweeted Hansal Mehta’s tweet and he wrote, “Ohh! That’s so shocking! Rest in peace Dada.” Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, in his tribute, wrote, “Sad to know that well known brilliant filmmaker of our country Pradeep Sarkar ji passes away. A great loss to the film industry. Heartfelt condolences to his family and near ones.”

Sarkar, who first worked as an editor on Munna Bhai MBBS, had directed several evergreen music videos that went on to define excellence in visual appeal and storytelling in the 90’s including Euphoria’s ‘Dhoom Pichak Dhoom,’ ‘Maaeri’ and Sultan Khan’s ‘Piya Basanti’ and Bhupen Hazarika’s ‘Ganga.’ 

Sarkar’s funeral will take place at 4 pm at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai. “It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Pradeep Sarkar has departed for his heavenly abode. Please join us at 4pm for his funeral at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium to say goodbye to him,” read an official statement.
