Nagpur transgenders react on order that prohibits them from begging on signals, visiting homes

In a first, Nagpur CP Amitesh Kumar issued a notification under CrPC 144 which prohibited transgenders from visiting homes, events uninvited.

In a first, Nagpur Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar issued a notification under Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) 144, which prohibited transgenders from visiting homes, special occasions, events uninvited. The notification was issued on Thursday January 19 that also bars transgenders from begging on traffic signals and demanding money from commuters. 

However, the top cop said voluntary donations to the community are permitted. He further added that citizens inviting them at homes and events is also allowed as a right to their (transgenders) livelihoods.

Cops summoned transgenders at city’s 33 police stations on Thursday and made aware of the order and so that warned them against violation if any. Nagpur Police is in the process of maintaining a database of all the transgender members from the city and to also to check for imposters.

The notification was sent to the Home Department, State Intelligence Department, Maharashtra director general of police, district collector and others. First phase of notification be in force till February 17.

Kumar said that there were complaints about transgenders’ aggressive behaviour and that this notification is issued keeping in mind the interest of citizens.

Vidya Kamble, a transgender from the oldest gharana of Hansapuri has spoken on the matter.

Indian cricketer Umesh Yadav had a ‘field day’ teasing his team member Shubham Gill after Tinder – a popular dating app – showed a photo of a girl with a placard on large billboards in Nagpur that read, “Shubman idhar toh dekh lo” (Shubman, have a look here).” Tinder was quick to capitalise on the joke and turn it into hoardings in Nagpur ahead of India first Test match vs Australia.

Taking to twitter, Yadav wrote, “Poora Nagpur bol raha hai, Shubman Gill ab toh dekh le.”

During India’s T20 match in Ahmedabad, a picture of a female fan holding a placard that read ‘Tinder, Shubman se match kara do” (Tinder, match me with Shubman)’ had gone viral.

The entire month of January in Nagpur this year saw tremendously high levels of Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2).

As per the recent survey of Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service, the entire month of January (all 31 days) in Nagpur this year saw tremendously high levels of Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2).

The survey that released pictures of the same showed increased levels of SO2 and NO2 not just in Nagpur but in cities including Chandrapur, Gondia and Amravati. Environmental experts have said that the matter was worrying from the point of view of the health of the residents as the pollution index in Nagpur saw an increase in all the three months of winter.

Not just in January this year but 28 out of 30 days in November last year as well as 30 out of 31 days in December last year showed poor air quality. Environmental expert Professor Suresh Chopani said an action plan, to avoid respiratory issues, under National Clean Air Programme would  be strictly implemented.

Homeopath doctor Dr Kavita Chandak, who has two Golden Book Of World Records for treating kidney disorders and success in a case of mucormycosis in her name, recently was invited as a keynote speaker to the 33rd Scientific and practical conference ‘Development of the Homeopathic Method in Modern Medicine’ held at  RUDN University at Moscow in Russia.

Dr Chandak delivered two keynote sessions on the topics:
 
1VICTORY OF HOMEOPATHY IN A CASE OF SIXTH NERVE RECTUS PALSY,HORIZONTAL DIPLOPIA AND MIGRAINE
 
2) AUTISM IS A DEEP PATHOLOGY, CURED WITH A RARE MEDICINE
 
She further discussed the modern trends in homeopathy. Dr Chandak is an  international trainer and speaker who specialises in autism, psychiatric and behavioural disorders, kidney diseases and cancer.  She authored eight books and 294 health articles and recently delivered a series of international seminars in various cities of Gujarat with a Greek homeopath Dr Constantine Tsitinides where they both presented the cases of unusual pathology treated with homeopathy.
