Nagpur Police Control Room received a call on February 1 claiming that 25 armed men with weapons and guns were deployed outside the residence of actor Dilip Joshi, who essays the character of Jethalal in television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

The caller, who’s name is Katke, told cops he’d heard some people talk about 25 armed men entering Mumbai to carry out these activities. After tracing the number, it was learnt that the number belonged to a boy who worked in a SIM card company in Delhi. Also, the boy’s number was spoofed without his knowledge and the call was made using his number with the help of a special app.

The Nagpur Control Room immediately alerted Shivaji Park Police Station and initiated an investigation by registering a case there. Cops are now on the lookout for the real caller.

The same caller had earlier warned the Nagpur Police Control room about bombs that were reportedly planted near actor Amitabh Bachchan and actor Dharmendra’s residences. The caller even mentioned industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s name in the list.
