Musicians enthrall audience with Rabindra Sangeet at ‘Remembering Tagore’ in Nagpur

Rabindra sangeet lovers were in for a treat when city-based NGO Lalitya Foundation and Aditya Anagha Bank recently organized the event ‘Remembering Tagore’ at Sai Sabhagruh in Nagpur. The event was organized in association with Nation Next Foundation.

Speaking to Nation Next, Prasad Pimprikar, Founder President of Lalitya Foundation, said: “During his time, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore more than 2,000 sings in Bangla. Very few know that many of these songs have been sing in Hindi as well for films. Through this event we wanted to give an opportunity to Rabindra sangeet lovers to enjoy these songs. Also, we wanted to raise funds for various activities of Lalitya Foundation. 

Rahul Hardas, a member of Lailtya Foundation, who conceptualized the event, said: “This event is a tribute to the man of prodigious literary and artistic accomplishments.” Musicians who performed during the event included: Dr Manoj Salpekar, Kaustubh Dixit, Sarang Joshi, Sagar Madhumatke, Manjiri Vaidya Iyer, Vikram Joshi, among others.

Pimprikar informed that Lalitya Foundation plans to organize the event in multiple cities in the future.

Deaf and dumb students put up scintillating show at Radio Mirchi’s ‘Utsav @ Zero Mile’ in Nagpur

Amid heavy rains, Nagpur citizens drenched themselves in patriotism during ‘Utsav @ Zero Mile’ organised by Radio Mirchi on Sunday, August 14. What made the event all the more special was when several deaf and dumb students of Deaf and Dumb School, Shankar Nagar, gave a splendid performance on national anthem that reverberated patriotic fervour. Apart from them, students from Delhi Public School also left people completely mesmerised with their incredibly soothing performance with various musical instruments.

Ex-Indian Idol contestant from the city Kaivalya Kejkar regaled the audience with songs including ‘Maula Mere Lele Meri Jaan’ from Chak De! India.

Kids in Nagpur walk ramp in khadi outfits during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

In a rare yet commendable initiative, kids walked the ramp in outfits made in Khadi by designer Durgesh Dixit during Khadi Pride. The ramp walk took place at Sugandh Sabhagruha in Nagpur on Sunday, August 14 in the presence of Central Member of Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Micro Small & Medium Enterprises Jaiprakash Gupta.
