It bothered me when I was called Salim Khan’s son, Salman’s brother or Malaika Arora’s ex-husband: Arbaaz Khan

For Arbaaz Khan, it has been an advantage as well as a disadvantage to be labeled as the son of writer Salim Khan, brother of Salman Khan and ex-husband of Malaika Arora. The actor, who’s been part of the industry for over 30 years now, expresses how he feels to be tagged with his father, brother and ex-wife.

“Earlier, I was conscious about all the labels I was tagged with. But today, when I look back, I feel it was unnecessary and didn’t make sense. I agree it would bother me when someone called me Salim Khan’s son or Salman Khan’s brother or even Malaika Arora’s ex-husband for that matter,” expressed Arbaaz and added, “But, I realised later that you can’t change people’s mindset. You have to live with it. I decided to restrain myself and had nothing to prove to anyone. If you do, it’s taxing and exhausting.”

Stressing further, Arbaaz added, “What one should choose? Pleasing a million people or pleasing just one person? That one person ‘has to be you’. The day we understand to seek validation from ourselves, you’ll be very happy.”

The ‘Tanaav’ actor also feels success is so transient. “These days everything is so transient, even success. So much so that you can’t enjoy it. I have done some good films, I did ‘Dabanng’. So should I retire now? There’s nothing called success or failure, you just have to keep doing good work,” he said and signed off.
