Oscars is giving out gift bags worth ₹1.3 crore to nominees who don’t go home with the Oscar award this year. Such is the value of the gift bag that brands pay an exorbitant fee just to be included in the hope that celebrities will promote them.

According to a report by Marketing Brew, brands pay a $4,000 (approximately ₹3.28 lakh) to have their product/service in the bag.

Those wanting to renovate their homes can use the $25,000 (over ₹20 lakhs) worth project management fees for home restoration from Maison Construction apart from lipo-arm sculpting, hair restoration services and a facelift.

While over 50% of the products reportedly come from companies that are women and minority-owned, the gifts will be delivered in Havaianas suitcases this year. The least expensive gifts include a pack of Clif Thins priced at $13.56, and an $18 loaf of Japanese milk bread from Ginza Nishikawa.

Who receives this coveted gift?

The Oscar gift bags are given to the hosts and the nominees for Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Howevr, the recipients also have the right to refuse to accept gifts. Last year, actor Denzel Washington reportedly declined his gift and actor JK Simmons donated it to a charity auction, as did George Clooney in 2006. Moreover, the products and services in the bag are a gift, the recipient does need to pay taxes on it, as it is considered an income.

Daughter of legendary director Steven Spielberg, who directed films like Jurassic Park, Jaws, etc., – Mikaela – revealed that she has begun producing solo adult film videos with the stage name ? Sugar Star. The 23-year-old further confessed that she wanted to work as a stripper at a club.

Mikaela, who is one of the adopted daughters of Steven (73) and his actress wife Kate Capshaw (66), clarified that her parents have been quite supportive in her new endeavour. She broke the news to her parents via face time and admitted that initially they were ?intrigued by her career choice but weren’t ?upset? at all. Their foremost concern was only her safety. During the interview, Mikaela also said that shes always been a sexual person that got her in trouble previously.

Speaking about ?financial independence? and ?capitalising? on her body she said, that her major concern is to get good work not and not get tied down financially. She further said that she wanted to tell people about how shes not wrong in captitalising her body.

Mikaela also confessed that she had previously posted few videos of hers on Porn Hub (porn website) under the stage name Sugar Star but took them off temporarily as she was waiting to procure her license as a sex worker, which is yet to be approved by Tennessee’s Sexually Oriented Business Licensing Board.

Speaking about the reason behind associating with porn, she said that she got really tired of not being able to capitalise on her body and instead being told to hate her body. She said, I just got tired of working in such a way that wasn’t satisfying my soul. I feel like doing this kind of work; I’m able to satisfy? other people. It feels good because it’s not in a way that makes me feel violated.

Speaking about her 47-year-old fiancé Chuck Pankow, she said that she wouldn’t have sex on camera with anyone else, as it would be a violation of her boundaries and relationship with her partner.

Mikaela is one of Steven and Kate Capshaw’s seven children – Jessica Capshaw, Max Samuel, Theo, Sasha Rebecca, Sawyer Avery and Destry Allyn.

Indian actor Anupam Kher has been nominated for a BAFTA award for his role in the BBC TV movie – The Boy with the Topknot. Kher has been nominated as the Best Supporting Actor in the British Academy Television Awards, for which the nomination announcement was made on Wednesday. Kher is accompanied by fellow nominees Adrian Dunbar (Line of Duty), Brian F O?Byrne (Little Boy Blue) and Jimmi Simpson (USS Callister) in the best supporting actor category.

The Boy with the Topknot is a movie based on a memoir by Sathnam Sanghera, a British Sikh, wherein he writes about his family history and his years growing up in Wolverhampton. In the movie, Kher plays the role of the father of Sathnam (played by British actor Sacha Dhawan).

An acclaimed actor, Anupam Kher, started his film career more than three decades back with the movie Saaransh in 1984. Apart from winning six filmfare awards, he has also been conferred upon by Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by the Government of India. Along with A Boy with the Topknot, Khers international projects include Bend It Like Beckham, ER, Silver Linings Playbook and Oscar nominated movie – The Big Sick.
