IND vs AUS T20 Series in Nagpur: All you need to know about tickets, venue, etc!

IND vs AUS T20: Nagpur is all set to host the second T20 International of the three-match series, scheduled to be played against Australia.

The Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) is all set to host the second T20 International of the three-match series, scheduled to be played against world champions Australia on Friday, 23rd September 2022 at its stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur. 

The game will be a day-night affair under the newly-installed LED floodlights, which offer better visibility to players on the ground and also a seamless viewing experience to the television audience.

The VCA stadium in Jamtha, which can accommodate 44,000-odd spectators, will be hosting an international T20 match after almost three years.



The much-awaited sale of tickets to Life Members and VCA affiliated clubs will commence from Thursday, 15th September at Bilimoria Pavilion, VCA at Civil Lines in Nagpur, from 9 am to 6 pm. The sale of tickets to members will be done offline.

A member can collect tickets on behalf of only four other members on the production of their membership cards. Life members are entitled to a complimentary ticket in the air-conditioned members’ stand. They can swap their member’s ticket with any lower denomination ticket, if they so desire. 

Apart from this, each member can also buy a maximum of 4 tickets of any denomination. Ticket sale to members will be on till 17th September and they are requested to buy the same by 17th September evening. No Member’s tickets would be available post this date.


Sale of tickets to the general public (online) will commence from Sunday, 18th September 2022. Online tickets for the match will be available on Paytm from


The redemption centre for online ticket buyers will be located at the Bilimoria Pavilion, Civil Lines, Nagpur. The redemption centre will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm till 22nd September.


The gates will be opened to spectators at 3.30 PM on matchday. The staff of Paytm would be manning the gate/bay entry through turnstiles at bay level. After the scanning of bar code at turnstile, ticket holders will get access to the stands.


Both the teams would be arriving in Nagpur on 21st September by a chartered flight and will have a practice session each on 22nd September. The Australian team will practice from 1PM to 4PM while Team India will be practising from 5 PM to 8 PM under floodlights at the Jamtha stadium.


Paresh Sutane (former Duleep Trophy player and employee of Bank of India) would be the Liaison Manager of the touring Australian team while Anand Tanksale (Cholamandalam finance) would be the Liaison Manager of Team India.


VCA has made available ample FREE parking arrangements near the stadium. Spectators can avail the same free of cost.


VCA has reserved 4400 tickets in the East Stand (Ground floor, Bay A, B & C) for school students only. The tickets have been priced at ₹100 per ticket.

Students should do the following to book and procure their tickets:

1. Students can book tickets only through their respective schools.

2) The list of students, duly authenticated by respective school Principals, has to be submitted along with the School IDs of bonafide students.

3) Every 20 students MUST be accompanied by one Teacher/Caretaker, who will be responsible to take care of the students.

4) The commencement of sale of tickets to school students will begin on September 16 from Bilimoria Pavilion of VCA, Civil Lines, Nagpur. It will be strictly on first-come first-served basis

5) While entering the stadium, a copy of the letter fromPrincipal along with the students’ School IDs should be produced at the turnstiles.

6. Any misrepresentation will be a punishable offence.

VCA hopes that students will adhere to this procedure and enjoy the game.


The VCA has also reserved a certain number of tickets for differently abled persons and their attendants. They will have to produce Govt ID/Certificate while buying the tickets. 


Sale of corporate boxes at Jamtha Stadium will be offline and will commence on September 15, 2022. However, no individual tickets for corporate Boxes will be sold by the VCA.

12-yr-old Nagpur boy dies after trying to imitate a deadly YouTube video

A 12-year-old boy named Agranya Barapatre in Nagpur breathed his last after trying to imitate a video on YouTube at his neighbour’s place. The woman, in the video, is seen demonstrating how she escaped with her hands tied behind, gagged and face covered with scarves. He was found hanging from a wooden ladder’s stick on the neighbour’s terrace but there was no knot on the scarf. 

Upon inspection, it was learnt that Agranya had downloaded a video titled ‘Full face cover challenge’ in his phone. Cops said that there was no reason for the teenager to commit suicide but the possibility of an accident could not be ruled out.

Arangya’s mother said the couple had no clue where the scarf came from; he only carried a chakri and a kite. She also revealed that her son usually played on their neighbour’s terrace

Reportedly, Agranya was undergoing a psychiatric treatment as he was a hyperactive kid who wasn’t attentive in studies. He was good with using phones and application so his family tried to keep the phone away from him. However, he would somehow always locate the phone. 

Agranya, the only child to his parents, was supposed to be felicitated at his school on Thursday during Republic Day for securing second position at a double-lathi event at the third National Traditional Lathi Sports Championship in Indore.

Post the incident, he was rushed to Government Medical College but was declared dead. Sakkardara Police registered a case of accident death.

The second edition of President’s Cup for Tennis Ball and Cricket was held in the sprawling campus of DPS MIHAN.

The second edition of the President’s Cup for Tennis Ball and Cricket was held in the sprawling campus of Delhi Public School (DPS MIHAN) on Friday, January 27. Gurudas Raut, a differently-abled international cricket player, captain of T20 World Cup 2019 and a recipient of many awards instituted by BCCI, ICC and VCA graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the event. Janak Shahu, Secretary, Physically Challenged Cricket Association was also present on this occasion. 

The second edition of President’s Cup for Tennis Ball and Cricket was held in the sprawling campus of DPS MIHAN.

Nidhi Yadav Principal at DPS MIHAN welcomed the guests by presenting saplings, which is the tradition of the school. In her welcome address, she highlighted the vision of President and Pro Vice Chairperson Tulika Kedia who ensures the best of sporting facilities are provided to the students for holistic education and for psycho- socio development. 

The second edition of President’s Cup for Tennis Ball and Cricket was held in the sprawling campus of DPS MIHAN.

She also thanked the Director Savita Jaiswal for her constant guidance and support. She expressed her gratitude for the benign presence of Raut to motivate the young players befitting to the occasion. She emphasized that he is a perfect role model for the budding cricketers.

Raut in his speech, appreciated the sporting facilities and encouragement given by the school for the development of sporting culture amongst the students. He emphasized that one should explore opportunities and believe in oneself to achieve one’s goal. He mentioned that with will power he could pursue cricket and achieve laurels at national and international level inspite of his limitations. 

In this edition, six teams are competing for the coveted President’s Cup. The finals will be held on Monday 30th January 2023.

Nagpur Police arrested two men on Wednesday for allegedly gang-raping a 17-year-old girl in a car in Saoner (40 kms from Nagpur city) on Monday. The cops, initiated an extensive search immediately after receiving a complaint and arrested the two. 
The two accused convinced the teenage girl to travel with them in car by offering her to drop her at her destination. The survivor, who was clueless about the accused’s intentions, helped them by giving directions for the destination.
Cops said the two, however, took a detour on the way and took her to an isolated place, parked the car and allegedly gang-raped her. The duo has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, among other charges.
