I don’t see the banner backing the film, I see who I’m collaborating with: Renuka Shahane

Renuka Shahane

Renuka Shahane is very choosy about the roles she picks up. Hence, we don’t see her on the big screen very often. The 56-years-old actress, who’s currently seen playing Vicky Kaushal’s mother in ‘Govinda Naam Mera’, wants to make a difference on screen.

“When I’m offered any role, before giving a nod, I make sure that the character is going to make a difference. Whatever I play on screen, has to take the center stage. And I don’t see the length of the role, but analyse if the film can be made with or without the character I’m going to play. The role has to play a significant part in the film. So yes, I’m very choosy,” confessed Renuka.

Moreover, Renuka doesn’t see the production house or banner backing the film. For her, what matters is who she likes to collaborate with. “It’s important for an actor to see who you’re working with! Because, we invest our time and energy on a particular film. So that filmmaker has to see through the project. It doesn’t matter to me who’s the producer or the banner backing the film,” she said.
