Nagpur women celebrate the spirit of womanhood at the All Women Bike Rally

Around 1000 Nagpur women participated at the 5th All Women Bike Rally organised by the Maharashtra Times with great enthusiasm. Most of them donned traditional outfits and saffron phetas

The rally was flagged off by Nagpur Commissioner of Police - Dr K Venkatesham and Nagpur Mayor - Nanda Jichkar

Around 50 newly recruited Nagpur policewomen along with other officers too joined the All Women Bike Rally for spreading the awareness about the freedom and safety of women

Thrashing the popular belief that only men can ride heavy bikes like bullet, many women bike riders were seen riding these heavy bikes with confidence and ease at the 5th All Women Bike Rally organised by Maharashtra Times

These women which consisted of advocates, doctors, teachers, businesswomen and housewives also carried pla cards carrying messages on women empowerment and women safety

Nagpur Police supported this rally in a big way by managing traffic and security. The organisers had also kept two ambulances ready in case of any untoward incident

Angel Deodkar, a little girl from Gadchiroli performed Martial Arts, to spread the message of importance of a woman being able to safeguard herself independently
