Former Chairman of Tata Group Cyrus Mistry dies in road accident

In a tragic incident, former Chairman of Tata Group Cyrus Mistry (54) passed away on Sunday afternoon in an accident that took place on a bridge on the Surya river in Palghar at Maharashtra.

Mistry, who died on the spot, was coming to Mumbai from Ahmedabad around half past three today in a Mercedes car driven by a woman.

While two including Mistry died on the spot, the other two passengers were admitted to a hospital in Kasa. 

Superintendent of Police, Palghar, revealed that the accident took place after the car hit the divider and that’s when the industrialist succumbed to injuries. He also informed that the police is conducting further investigation in this regard.

On June 28 this year, Mistry’s father Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry, the billionaire realtor and Chairman Emeritus of Shapoorji Pallonji Group, passed away at his home in Mumbai in his mid-sleep.
