Prominent chartered accountants and hundreds of students attended two-day the ‘Mega CA Students’ Conference’ organised by Nagpur Branch of WIRC and WICASA Nagpur on July 21 and July 22 at Deshpande Hall. The conference was organized under the aegis of Students Skill Enrichment Board (SSEB) – Board of Studies – Operations of ICAI. The theme of the conference was ‘यत् भावो तत् भवति (You become what you believe).’
Prominently present during the conference were by Nagpur Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar (Chief Guest, Valedictory session), Manik M Jolly (Retired Major of Indian Army and Gallantry Award Winner from Gurugram), CA Jaydeep Shah (Past President, ICAI), CA Abhijit Kelkar (Regional Council member), CA Hrudyesh Pankhania (Regional Council Member from Mumbai), CA Umesh Sharma (Conference Director & Central Council Member), CA OS Bagadia, CA Swapnil Agrawal, CA Ashwini Agrawal, CA Kirti Agrawal and CA Umang Agrawal. The conference also saw enthusiastic participation of students from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Baroda, Aurangabad, Akola, Amravati, etc.
Nagpur Branch of WIRC & WICASA Nagpur hosted a successful two-day Mega CA Students’ Conference IPS Shri Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police Nagpur while speaking during the valedictory session stated that he was very impressed to the see the kind of mentoring and guidance being offered to students of the CA profession by seniors and professionals.
He said: “This handholding is something very rarely witnessed wherein the students not just gain the right kind of guidance but also opportunities for networking, get professional inputs and develop their personality.” Kumar congratulated the managing committee of the branch and team WICASA for organising the event. He mentioned that ethics and values are core pillars and chartered Accountants are the custodians of the economy of the country.

CA Ketan Saiya, who was the guest of honour, congratulated the organizing team for choosing a wonderful theme and making the conference successful. CA Deepak Jethwani, Chairperson, WICASA, explained how the event was conceptualised and he and his team worked day and night under the guidance and mentorship of all the managing committee members for the success of the conference.
CA Jitendra Saglani, Chairperson, Nagpur Branch said: “This conference is a result of 40000 dedicated man hours put in by 150 student volunteers,” as he recognized the efforts taken by the branch, team WICASA and student volunteers involved in various committees for making the student conference a big success.
CA Abhijit Kelkar stated that the kind of quality time that was invested into the conference is the reason why the conference created an impact on those who participated. CA Umesh Sharma applauded the Nagpur Branch for organising the event in post-COVID era in such a graceful manner.
All the technical sessions were coordinated by students and convened by managing committee members. Anushka Rigangaokar (Secretary, WICASA) proposed a formal vote of thanks during the valedictory session whereas CA Sanjay M Agrawal (Vice Chairperson, Nagpur Branch) announced results of winners of technical sessions.
CA Akshay Gulhane (Secretary), managing committee members CA Trupti Bhattad, CA Swaroopa Wazalwar and CA Sanjay C Agarwal convened the technical session. The conference saw a participation from more than 600 students.
The event was conducted by Nagpur WICASA team comprising of Prajakta Gupta (Vice chairperson), Anushka Ringangaokar (Secretary), Aanchal Dubey (Joint Secretary), Kalash Gajarani (Treasurer), Shreya Pokle (Jt. Treasurer), Ridhi Dhuvavia (Public Relationship Officer) and Parth Shukla (Jt. Editor).

Management conclave held at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Nagpur
Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Nagpur organized management conclave ‘SYMCHARCHA’ on 23rd Sep 2022. This event has been organized by Corp connect team of SIBM Nagpur for sharing knowledge about the latest trends and needs of the industry.
The program started with lighting the lamp by the dignitaries and the address by Director SIBM-Nagpur, Dr Shrirang Altekar.
The program was graced by several senior executives from the industry with names like Shailesh Wadhankar, VP Salesforce, Persistent; Capt. Pranab Prasoon Thakur, head HR, Hindustan Coca Cola Ltd.; Sajesh Jyothiprakash, VP JP Morgan;
Mr. Shailesh Wadhankar while addressing the students, elaborated about change in working pattern post pandemic. He focused on the challenges that the industry is facing in bringing back people to workplace.
Capt. Pranab Prasoon Thakur emphasized on focusing on learning new skills and also on team work. He correlated the army discipline with the success of business. He further elaborated on leading by setting an example. He also shared as how covid taught us that we have to go with the flow sometimes as we don’t have any solution for a situation.
Sajesh Jyothiprakash shared his experience as to how technology plays an important role in today’s environment. He also focused on various investment patterns, market analysis of latest trends etc. He motivated students to develop their skills and focus on their goals.
All the sessions were followed by question and answer by students and faculties to all the dignitaries present.
The day ended with learnings and sharing of experiences.

Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College celebrates Engineer’s Day in Nagpur
Civil Engineering Department celebrated Engineer’s Day 2022, followed by Guest Lecture under ARTEX Forum in association with Institution of Engineers (India) Students’ Chapter on September 17.
Civil Engineering Department of Tulsiramji Gaikwad–Patil College of Engineering and Technology, (an autonomous Institute) Nagpur, celebrated Engineer’s Day 2022 followed by Guest Lecture by the invited Chief Guest for the event Dr Srikant Annavarapu, Director, Master Geotech Services Pvt. Ltd, Nagpur. The expert has highlighted the role of engineers in nation building, infrastructure development and taking the leadership towards achieving sustainable development goals.
He also motivated the students to take final year project as a challenge to solve real life practical problems. The targeted objectives of the project should be to provide efficient solutions to the problems of society with locally available resources.
Dr. Mohan Gaikwad-Patil, Chairman GPG, Prof. Sandeep Gaikwad, Treasurer, GPGI, Dr A V Kale, Principal, Prof. Pragati Patil, Vice-Principal, appreciated the faculty members for their inspirational work done and congratulated the students for active participation in the Guest Lecture as well as for the successful completion of the program.
