Ankush Gopalani takes over as chairman of Nagpur Spirits Round Table 258 at AGM held in Goa

Nagpur Spirits Round Table 258 (NSRT 258) had a change of guard during its 7th Annual General Meeting held in Goa recently. Ankush Gopalani took the charge as the chairman for the year 2022-2023 from Rohit Buty who was the chairman for the year 2021-2022. Other members in the upcoming headboard include: Kshitiz Agrawal as Vice Chairman, Vishesh Agrawal as the Secretary and Saheb Alag as the Treasurer.

During his speech, Buty presented the annual report of the work done in the previous year. Buty informed that the highlight of the year was joint community service by all the Nagpur Tables and Ladies Circle including: 

  • Old Age Home Visit & Musical Program with donation of 200Kg Supplies.
  • I-CARE Kits Distribution comprising of 3 months of essential supplies & personal hygiene items to children who lost both their parents to COVID-19.
  • Library Setup & Stationary donation to children at Chitnavis Trust.
  • Interaction with Specially Abled Children and donation of supplies.
  • Organising visit to indoor play areas ‘Topsy Turvey’ & ‘Fun Factory’ for more than 100+ underprivileged children.
  • Donation of expensive essential medical supplies to LGBTQ Community.
  • Construction of Toilet Block at Chitnavis Wada.
  • Distribution of 400+ Packets of Boost in collaboration with Hindustan Unilever to underprivileged children across various slum areas and trusts in Nagpur.
  • Donation of Rs. 25,000/- as Martyr Grant to a financially stressed family in Betul who lost their son in Operation Rakshak in Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Limb Donation of a prosthetic leg to a financially backward beneficiary.
  • Donation of 100+ winter wear essentials to NMC “Garbage Collectors” across Nagpur.
  • Organising a Musical Night for 60+ orphans with distribution of meals.
  • Association with cricketer Brett Lee for endorsing the works done by Round Table India, Nagpur Spirits Round Table & Nagpur Ladies Circle via video on social media.

During the AGM, Buty presented awards and appreciations to – Vishesh Agrawal (Overall Table Contribution), Sagar Maheshwari (Rising Star), Saheb Alag (Rising Star), Sanket Agrawal (Fellowship King), Ritesh Saraf (Table Mentor), Isha Agrawal (All Round Community Service), Dakshaja Buty (Creative), Pooja Agrawal (LAPD) and others among others for fantastic work done throughout the past year.

The AGM was attended by MBRT 313 Chairman – Kevin Jacob, Past Table Headboard Members & now Square Legs – Samir Agrawal, Amit Khemka, Roshan Saraf and Siddharth Saraf and other active NSRT-258 Tablers including – Kunal Agrawal, Narayan Rathi, Sahil Shah, Vipul Choudhary, Pratik Kedia and Dhiraj Agrawal.

Round Table India is a young men’s organisation aimed at promoting community service and goodwill in national and international affairs. Round table is present in 67 countries worldwide with over 65,000 members. Round Table India has more than 320 Tables (chapters) located in 95 plus cities and towns. Round Table India is a zero overhead organisation and therefore every rupee raised by the organisation goes purely into charitable projects and this year as well Nagpur Spirits Round Table 258 will continue its work towards any and all such projects.

Nagpur records 22 COVID cases in 24 hours

A total of 22 patients tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagpur in past 24 hours on Thursday. Almost 242 people were tested in the city.

A total of 22 patients tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagpur in past 24 hours on Thursday. Almost 242 people were tested in the city, out of which 15 belonged to urban area while and 6 were from the rural areas, and one from outside Nagpur district. 

At present, there are 72 active patients in the city. Three new cases of the new XBB.1.16 variant of COVID-19 were detected that took the total tally to five in the district.  

India recorded 3,095 new COVID cases and five deaths in last 24 hours.

RCNV provides sponsorship to 5 children

Under the aegis of Diabetes patronage program at AIIMS, Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision – RCNV – members sponsored five children for this financial year by handing over a cheque of ₹1,25,000 to the Director of AIIMS Maj. Gen (Dr ) Vibha Dutta, SM.

This project takes care of all the needs like insulin, glucometer,special diet and other consumables required by the children suffering from the dreaded and debilitating disease type 1 diabetes.

President Shivani interacted with the authorities and incharge of the project Dr Meenakshi and her team. Joint secretary Dr Akshay Daga interacted with the beneficiary children and their parents exhorting the importance of discipline during the treatment.

President elect Ajay, secretary Ritika and Rtn. Arouni Verma were amongst those who were present at AIIMS, nagpur. Dr Sangeeta and Dr Akash conducted the proceedings. The gratitude felt by the parents and their blessings to our team exemplified the importance of this endeavour in shaping the lives of children suffering from type 1 diabetes.

DPS MIHAN was awarded with the Literary Leadership Excellence Award for the enthusiastic participation in Nagpur.

Delhi Public School MIHAN was awarded with the Literary Leadership Excellence Award for the enthusiastic participation of its students in the National Young Authors Fair – the World’s largest Book Writing Competition held by BriBooks and powered by Education World.

More than 90 budding writers of the school availed the benefits of the excellent opportunity provided by the AI-assisted BriBooks platform which helped them to hone their storytelling skills .The plethora of creative designs helped the students to work on the illustrations needed for designing their novel. The pleasure of publishing one’s own novel and reaching out to the global readers was a thrilling experience for the budding authors.

The students also got an exposure to sell the books online and earn Author Royalty as a remuneration. The books published by several DPS MIHAN students have achieved milestones and won rewards in the categories of Best Author – Jury Awards for Content and Creativity, Best Selling Author Awards in the State and Global Feature Awards for International recognition.

The jury and guest list comprised of HE Noor Gilon,Ambassador of Israel, Saul Singer – Author of Best Seller ‘ Start -up Nation’ ,Dele Olojede- Pulitzer prize winner and Navyn Salem- Founder & CEO Edesia.

President and Pro-Vice Chairperson Ms.Tulika Kedia and Director Ms.Savita Jaiswal have congratulated the Principal Ms.Nidhi Yadav, staff and students for their sincere efforts to achieve this recognition.
