Actress Anu Aggarwal was ahead of her time when she was young. And somewhere it affected her personal life too. In an interview recently, the actress revealed that she was in a live-in relationship with a guy. This is not it, the mother of the guy accepted it and lived with them too.
Talking of being ahead of her time, Anu said, “I agree I did things which were ahead of my time. I remember, when I attended the Cannes film festival in the 90s, people asked me, ‘What is Cannes?’. I’ve always been a forward person who believes in the fact that, ‘jitna acchha hota hai, utna buraa bhi hota hai. Being an actor, I could have been a different girl altogether, but what all happened to me, affected my personal relationship negatively.”
Moreover, a lot of things were written about Anu’s life back then and people believed it. “I was in a live-in relationship with my boyfriend and that time it was unacceptable. Surprisingly, my boyfriend’s mother also stayed with us. She was very open and accepted me too. But later her friends spoke things against me and a lot of things were written about me in the media. And sadly, people believed it and I had no way to save myself. In those days, we didn’t even have social media. My personal life was destroyed, but professional life boomed,” shared Anu.
Social media not only helps me stay visible and relevant, but also have a source of income: Alaya F
Alaya F made her entry in Bollywood with Saif ALi Khan starrer ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’. And after a three year gap we saw her in Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Freddy’. Even though she was missing from action in those three years, social media kept her in the limelight for her fans. The actress, who’ll next be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat’, gets vocal in a chat…
Talking about social media, which kept her connected to her fans during those three year gap, she said, “There’s no such mystery left in the life of an actor in today’s time, thanks to social media. Our fans have access to us a lot of time and I think that’s fine. Because we’ve signed up for it to be part of the industry. And I believe, as an actor, you’ll always want your fans or people to see you a lot more. So, I don’t worry about keeping any mystery on my social media. Whenever I want to take a break, I take a break. At least that’s in our hands.”
Moreover, Alaya feels it’s important for a celebrity to be on social media. It not only gave her visibility, but was a source of income too. “It’s important to be active on social media. It was a big blessing for me at least during the three-year gap between my first ‘Jawaani Janna’ and second film, ‘Freddy’. It helped me to not only stay visible and relevant, but also have a source of income. No matter how much I hate social media, I’m grateful for it as it gave me a great foundation that I managed to continue in Freddy. Now, I want to be active because I’ve realised that if you use social media correctly, it can be really powerful in the right ways.
Naatu Naatu composer MM Keeravani is a great musician; just that he’s underrated: AR Rahman
SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ has been making news for the past few weeks. Be it winning Golden Globe for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ or being nominated for Oscars 2023, composer MM Keeravani is a national name now. The Oscar-Golden Globe-Grammy awards winner, AR Rahman said, spoke about MM Keeravani in a recent interview.
Expressing that Keeravani is ‘underrated’, he said, “You know what? MM Keeravani is a great composer, it’s just that he’s underrated. And I’m not sure if it’s true, Keeravani wanted to quit music in 2015 and retire. In fact, that’s when his career had actually started. And everyone noticed it. I believe when someone thinks their life is over, that’s when your life starts. You just need to live. I even tell my kids the same, ‘that gentleman (Keeravani), who’s been in the industry for 35 years, wanted to quit so early when his career actually started at that point.”
This video of Rahman’s interview about Keeravani has been appreciated on social media. And many users have also praised him for his positive and inspirational statements. Moreover, Keeravani will be conferred with Padma Shri this year, who once thought of quitting and wanted to retire in 2015.
To complete my film ‘Emergency’, I mortgaged every single thing I owned: Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut finished the shoot of her much awaited film ‘Emergency’ recently. But finishing this film wasn’t an easy journey for the actress. She went through a lot of ups and downs while finishing this period drama where she plays former PM, Indira Gandhi.
Talking about all the difficulties she faced to complete the film, Kangana recently said, “Whatever task I take up, I make sure I finish it. But to finish the film, I had to mortgage all my properties, every single thing I owned as I am also banking the film as a producer. Moreover, mortgaging all my property to complete the film wasn’t a big deal. I am someone who makes all my big decisions within minutes. The main struggle was running to banks back-to-back while shooting the film. Somehow, it hampers your work big time.”
Kangana, who made her entry into Bollywood with ‘Gangster’ in 2006, also spoke about her initial days in Bollywood. “When I came to Mumbai, I had only ₹500. So, if I lose all my property after ‘Emergency’ release and I’m completely ruined, it won’t matter much. I am very confident and strong enough to stand up on my feet once again and bounce back. Such possessions hold no meaning for me to be frank,” said Kangana to the paparazzi during the ‘Emergency’ wrap-up party held recently.
